I heart faces: Best face in January

Jaelyn has that face.  I'm sure of it ;)

Photo taken by: Me - Edit by: Jhen Stark

Chubby cheeks & trouble.

So Jae is convinced that her bottom lip is a snack.  She munches on it ALL day long.
Among the munching, comes an absolutely adorable "bbbbbbbbbf" humming sound, and drool.  TONS of drool.  I'm imagining it's her language for "yum, yum, yum..".

I love it when she discovers new things.  The chubby look of the cheeks she forms, and the sounds are adorable.

Onto a different subject:
Boy are we in trouble.  She's got attitude, friends & boy does she know how to rock it.  Jae has had her 'tude brow down pretty good since birth but I'm beginning to notice improvements.  I mean, look at that shape, that arch, the all around use.  I'm going to rate it a solid 8 out of 10.  It's beginning to be perfection.  I must save this photo for when she's 16.  I have a feeling she'll rock it then, too.

Ey, see.. told you. Trouble.

photos & a BUTTON!

Important stuff first...
Some good, and high demanded news!

I FINALLY got around to a button! Grab it.  Love it.  Share it.  It's on my right sidebar!

Last night I Blogged about hiking, snakes, and my crazy Herpatology Baby-Daddy.  I promised more photos, so here they are:

I took a shot at something different.  It's "eh".  Kinda cool?

This Devil of a cold came back again full force, so I'm not really in the typing mood.  I'd rather be sleeping.  But I don't break promises! Hope you enjoyed.
Good night, friends.  I shall go create my shower into the "gorilla mist room" and attempt to remove this Monster of a Man off of my chest.

Herpatology craziness.

We went for a hike today.

You probably wonder what all of this Herpatology nonsense is all about.  It's Jeff's passion.  Yep, all things reptile.  He digs it- more than the average Joe.
Jeff's season starts in March and goes through June, takes a break till August, and goes until October, sometimes November.  He's gone A LOT.  It's taken some time to adjust to, and I still have some issues with it every now and again (due to missing him & being lonely), but all and all- I like it.
Jeff has a passion and love for the outdoors like you have never seen.  He loves ALL animals, reptiles, fishies, insects, etc... more than any person I have ever met.  His heart is huge and full of love for creatures big and small.  I love that about him.

Last year I was pregnant, so it was really hard to get out and about with him.  I did my best to hike around, but once my belly grew, my balance got clumsy, and my speed decreased dramatically, so it was a no-go.  I like to call him the Mountain Goat due to his extreme ability to hike through ALL land.  It's pretty fascinating.  But, while pregnant, it was nearly impossible.  Now that we have Jae, we've been out a few times.  It's turning into something we really love doing together.  I strap Jae on the front of me, and we get our hike on.

Here's a shot from today's journey- I'm getting sleepy, so I will picture overload you tomorrow:
It was a must share.  I can say that this is my favorite shot of Jae & I yet.  I absolutely adore it.  I hope you do too :) Oh, and if you didn't know... my Baby Daddy can snap a few goodies.  He's good.
Here's how good he is:

Before I share, I feel the need to CAUTION you.  Following photo may cause eebie-jeebies:

Eebie-Jeebies? Ya, I figured.  I probably owe you an apology for that.  Sorry.  Not too many people are fond of snakes.
You're probably wondering how many heart attacks I have a year? Too many.  Snakes don't bother me- at all.  The thought of Jeff getting bit in the field is what causes the heart attacks.  If you ask me, taking a photo like that is a damn good way to get bit.  Cross your fingers with me that it NEVER happens.

This post is making my mind tick- maybe I should do a full cover post on Jeff and what he does.  Would you be interested?  It's some pretty cool stuff.

We featured... US! VLOG time.

I have come to realize that this Blog World is pretty rad.  As my readers know, it has been a hell of a week.  Battling colds, teething, and 2 funerals back-to-back has pretty much put The "J" Family at a stand still.  But you guys pulled through and made it a thousand times better.
A special THANK YOU to Branson from Reflection of Something for featuring me on her Fab Friends post. I feel so honored!! Go check out her Blog.  It's full of family stories, inspiration, and love.
Also, a huge THANK YOU to Kari from Love, Luci for being so amazing and supportive.  She's such a great Blogging friend.  I look forward to the day that we can meet in person.  Her little Luci Girl is ADORABLE, and her twins couldn't get any cuter.
I really appreciate your words of encouragement and your atta-girl comments.  I love you guys.
Things are beginning to smooth over, so my posts will begin to bring a smile to your faces rather than a "awwww mannnn".

Now on to some fun stuff.
Shalyn from Laugh Until Your Cheeks Hurt posted a VLOG and I fell in love.  She's so darn cute and sweet, I just had to "swallow my pride" and VLOG with her.
Please excuse the rasp of my voice.  I'm juusstt about over this darn Bronchitis- and thank goodness my video quality is so yucky... I have a nasty red Rudolf nose from the constant blowing.  Ewe.

Follow my footsteps, friends! I'd love to see you in video form :)

In the words of Shalyn:

"The 'no making fun' clause is evoked, once again. And once again, you must DO THIS! It's fun to see who the people are behind the blogs! I included the words and questions below so you can participate! Yay you!"

Dear white cap,

Dear White Cap that resides in my Babes little gums,
I hate you.  No, wait... I love you.  But really.. I don't really like you very much.  All at the same time of hating and not liking you very much.... I love you.
You're making the house of the Teel's miserable.  You cause a lack of sleep, a fussy baby, a runny nose, and a chewing monster!  You cause Mommy to have a dead arm due to the constant carrying of your suspect, and a grumpy Daddy due to Mommy's lack of patience.
You cause our water bill to increase due to constant running of the washer.  Bibs are being used like you've never seen before from the mess of teething nets, biscuits, and drool.  AKA... you're making our life messy also.
Can you please do us a "clean one" and pop out already (among all 19 of you that have yet to make your appearance)?
How about this?  We'll trade-off.  You pop out in a more comforting, quick manner, and I'll feed you some yummy food so you can do your job and chomp happily?  Do we gotta deal?

The tired, anxious, fed-up... Mom.
(and the in pain, fussy Jaelyn too)

WARNING: Image belong contains a freshly awoken, tired Mother.  "WHOA, she looks like crud" may occur.

Mommy Patience

Yesterday, for the first time, my patience were tested as a Mom.  To the extreme.  A shower was out of the question, I finally brushed my teeth at 5pm, and food/drink was out of the picture.

Jaelyn is growing or teething? Maybe coming down with a cold? I'm going to call it growth spurt while teething- she screams like you've never heard, cries uncontrollably, naps are out of the question, runny nose, and must be held.. while standing.. at all times.  AKA my 6 month old has turned into a terror.  There were many times throughout the day that I thought to myself  "maybe I should just go back to work... this full time Mommy deal is TOUGH!".  Those thoughts would lead to tears, I would feel bad, and go back to comforting my little one.  This seemed to be the routine.  All. day. long.

She went down for one nap.  At 4:00pm.  We'll call is a 15 minute cat nap- in my arms.  This pretty much sums up how I felt:
Image rights to: Stock Photography

Done.  Pooped.  EXHAUSTED.  I'm pretty sure I looked something similar to that too.

I went through the checklist many times, over and over again.  Clean diaper? Check. Has she pooped? Twice. Check. Fed? Bottle and baby food. Check. Tylenol dose? Check. Naps? Negative. Teething biscuit? Check.
I'm missing something.
Bath? OH YES! I went for it.  3 times.  It was the only thing that would soothe my poor little girl.
It would bring this...

To this:
Edit by: Jhen Stark (I love it!)

I know I have many more of these days to come.  I know there will be a day that I will miss this.  I will miss her innocence, her tiny hand in mine, her licking kisses, and even her screams.  I must embrace these days and soak in all that I can.  She's not going to be my "Little Bug" forever.

I learned patience yesterday.  God threw a test at me, and I have the confidence to say I passed.  With a nice dose of Bronchitis, grieving the loss of a dear friend, and a Monster child on my hands.. I'd say I'm holding it together pretty well.
I'm throwing on my well deserved Mommy Cape and sporting it around with a smile on my face with my Babes on my hip.

They call her love.

Friday marks the day of the Bug's 6 month Birthday.  What a milestone, right? So yesterday I set my cold aside, picked up my camera, and took on her 6 month photo shoot.
I hate to toot my own horn, but my kid is pretty darn cute! ("TOOT!, TOOT!")

Listen as you read.  It's a beauty.

I never thought I would do this, but I'm going to throw down a pick up line that was once used on me, on my daughter... "your eyes are as blue as the water I surf in".  I just did that.  I wish I could take responsibility for those baby blues.  I can take partial, but not full.  You should see her Daddy's lookers... they're captivating.

Her lips are often referred to as "Angelina Jolie" lips.  Don't get me wrong.. I dig it, but I must disagree.  Those kissers are from her Momma.  All me.  Give me a break, I need to stake claim for something on her beautiful Bod.

"They call her LOVE"

"She is Love, and she is all I need"

The Trendy Treehouse

I can't believe my life changed in so many amazing ways just 6 months ago.  Never have I loved like I do.  Never have I smiled this smile.  Never have I felt I have achieved so much.

I love you, my little Bug.  I made this banner for you... for good reason.  You've climbed that 6 month milestone- Mommy & Daddy are SO proud.

can I have a tissue?

It's a quick post...
I'm getting my booty kicked with a nasty chest cold.  I sound like a smoker (and never have I smoked in my life), I cough like a... smoker (again... smoking is not for me), and I hack ________ like a (fill in the blank with your "I've been there" comment)... (I'll stop there.).
So I'm here, but not really... wanting to say hi (with a mask on, and hand sanitizer at arms reach of course).
Can we say one thing after another?
I'll be peeking my head in here-and-there this week.  I'm gonna be on operation get well soon... along with some other stuff.

I miss you, friends! I'll be back to my witty-feel-good self soon.  I promise.

Here's a few photos from our hike at the Colorado River yesterday.  This was "I'm feeling this hack thing coming, but I don't want to admit it" time.

Because I need a laugh.

& I'm sure you could use one too..

My baby girl sure does know how to brighten my day.  Jeff is pretty darn good at it too.

Jeff took the day off of work today to spend some time with me.  He was seeing the extreme pain that I was holding in my heart and he couldn't bare it.  We lounged.  We cleaned.  We didn't shower (totally gross).  We vegged.  Oh, and I cooked some bomb dinner.
Jaelyn must have known that her Mommy had a frown that was in need of turning upside down.  So, she preformed the best darn window lick known to man.  Not once, not twice... but three times.  And to better it, she giggled in between each and every window wash.

Don't worry, the dirt is on the outside of the window.. and it looks as if I need to do some serious washing to those bad boys.
Pretty funny, right?

Here's a few more from the archives... just for giggles.

Out of focus.  Badly.  Do I care? No.  I laugh.

Man, I love her.  I have a few funny's of Jeff, but he would kill me if he found out I posted them.  Maybe I'll sneak them in later ;)

I really appreciate your words of encouragement from my last post.  I love my readers... you guys put some spunk in my step and reassured me that all is going to be okay.
I was asked to create a slideshow for Buddy's services.  That means photos and songs.  Which leads to tears , tissues, some laughter, and the important part... memories.
I could use some suggestions for the slide show.  Does anyone know of any creative ways to put it together? Special programs? Any way of finding free songs? I feel my creative knack has flown out the window and I was wondering if I could borrow yours.
Wish me luck.  I need some strength.
